This restaurant was delicious. We had the cheese sticks as our appetizer and they were so big and super tasty. There were four cheese sticks all together, but we devoured the first two before I took the picture. The burger with a great size definitely worth the cost it was served with fresh french fries on the side. The wait staff was super friendly and very attentive. Definitely worth the stop.
Food was good. When we showed up they only had 1 waitress. You could tell was she was over worked. We had no where to be so we didn't mind waiting. It was worth the wait.
South of the Border Proof that I will drive an hour for good onion rings. (Forgot to take a photo of onion rings until they were half gone, you will have to use your imagination). Hands down, the best onion rings I have ever had. In fact next time we won't order anything else because the rings are more than enough to eat for two. Both of us packed our lunch order up in to-go boxes to take with us. I had the hamburger steak which came with potato casserole and baby limas. My wife went with the fried chicken. We were the only customers for awhile, nice, old restaurant vibe at South of the Border, right outside of St. Francisville on US-61.
Wonderful lunch. The Greek Chicken and Shrimp pasta with mushrooms, artichoke hearts and red peppers was delicious. The green beans were excellent and the bread pudding was fantastic! Thanks South of the Border for the great meal and service!
Ms. Terri is the absolute best!!! and not to mention the food! we had a table of 7 and everyone loved loved loved their meal. I personally had the garlic pasta with chicken and green beans. everything is seasoned to perfection. and the desserts! the blackberry cobbler is divine. if that’s not your style, they have many other options to chose from. if you’re in the area, this is the place to go. best meal around.
I wish I could give this place 10 stars. Darn good burger one of the best I've ever had, outstanding service and atmosphere. We were just traveling through but I highly recommend y'all stop here for the Border Burger extra pickles and the side salad with their homemade ranch. The sweet potato fries were delicious as well. Juiciest burger I've had probably ever.
The food was absolutely fabulous. I had the stuffed shrimp and they were not only HUGE but they were the BEST stuffed shrimp I've ever had in my life. All the food was delicious, the service was very friendly and it had a great atmosphere. If I had one small critique, the bread rolls they brought us were not very good, they were cold and seemed a bit low quality but everything else made up for that AND MORE! We will definitely be back!
Wow! Truly wow! What a great place to come and eat! The service was great!!! Ms.Terri helped us and she was incredibly sweet and willing to help any way she could. She was friendly and more than happy to say hello and have a conversation with us. The restaurant was nice and clean. It was easy to find right off the road. And the food was amazing! I got the country fried chicken breast. Normally I have to take about half of my meals I eat out home, but not this meal. It was so good I couldn’t help but eat it all! And the blackberry cobbler was fantastic. Overall, you should definitely come here!
